:: CHEVALIER MANUAL VERTICAL KNEE MILLS ::

FEATURES:

  • The end of the motor shaft is supported by a bearing. Aside from increasing the life of the motor, this feature assures smooth operation even during speed changes.
  • Precision ground X & Y leadscrews are coupled with a double-nut arrangement to eliminate backlash.
  • Dual locks are used in the knee, ram and table to ensure better rigidity.
  • The oil groove on the ways are milled (as opposed to the traditional grounding by hand), allowing more even flow of lubricants on the way surfaces.
  • The gib on the table has two adjustment screws (instead of one) for more accurate adjustment.
  • The telescoping chip guards on the knee between the saddle are satin chrome-plated to prevent scoring from chips, further increasing the life of the chip guards.
  • Thrust bearings are used on the X & Y axes to pre-load the feed screws, effectively reducing backlash.
  • The quill spring housing is designed with 8 holes (not the usual 2) that are evenly spaced around its mounting flange for easier installation of the clock spring.
  • Dynamically balanced motor and pulleys Runout under 0.00015".
  • The spindle is mounted on Class 7 (P4) heavy duty spindle support bearings, providing the machines with enough rigidity to withstand vibration even at high operating speeds.
